Meet Ms. Emily
Emily Whitcomb
Music Together Fireflies Director & Teacher
Music Together® has been a part of Emily’s life for over a decade. She began attending classes in 2012 with her husband and two daughters, and immediately fell in love with the program. She later went on to complete her Music Together teacher training, and taught for two years with Music Together of Charlotte in North Carolina. Ever since first moving to Waterford, Wisconsin in 2015, it has been Emily’s dream to bring Music Together classes to this area of southeastern Wisconsin. She founded Music Together Fireflies in 2024 and can’t wait to share this amazing program with local families.
Emily has always loved to sing and make music. She grew up singing in school choirs, taking piano lessons, and putting on song and dance shows in the kitchen with her sister. As an adult, Emily kept the music going by seeking out community choirs. She has sung with several groups over the years, and currently is a member of the Milwaukee Choristers. Emily also enjoys musical theater.
Emily has focused her career on working with children. Her first job after college was as an assistant teacher at a school for children with learning disabilities. This experience inspired her to pursue a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and she worked for 10 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist, with children of all ages. Her favorite job was working with preschoolers and early intervention, traveling to children’s homes, schools, and daycares, and working closely with families.
When teaching Music Together, Emily draws on both her years of experience working with children and her passion for music. She loves sharing this with families and helping them experience the magic and joy of making music together.
